home networking - future proofing your home today |

Smart Wiring
Also known as "Structured Wiring", is simply a way of
wiring your home that allows it to take advantage of the latest
high speed communication technologies and entertainment systems
and also, those that are due in the foreseeable future.
Wiring involves low voltage cables that carry phone, fax,
data, audio, and video signals around your home. |

The correct cable infrastructure will not only maximise
the benefit of current systems and services, but will also help
to future proof your home and provide the flexibility necessary
to implement tomorrow's technology.
A "structured wiring" home network expands on basic wiring
to allow the home's VCR, Pay TV, or DVD to be distributed to all
TV's within the home, as well as remote control from any room -
the kids can watch Pay TV in one room, while you enjoy a DVD without
interruption. They can also channel surf from any room they choose! |

Share internet, email, music, printers
It also solves the problem of sharing an internet connection,
email and hardware like printers, and with most homes now having
more than one computer, a network makes good sense.
Increase the
family's security and safety.
Cameras can be installed at
the front door or near the pool and their images will appear at
every TV on designated channels. Other areas, like the driveway,
can be monitored, especially if you have a vehicle left out at night
or lane-ways around the home.
Multi-Room audio plays sound in many areas of your home from just
one set of audio equipment - no need for stereo systems in every
room, less clutter of cables, and speakers can be discreetly mounted
in the ceilings or walls to blend in with the decor. Outdoor speakers
are available also, so you can extend the entertainment outside.
Pre-wiring allows you to add or expand the system over time as your
needs change. See audio
distribution for more information. |

New standards for tomorrow
Traditional TV and phone cables and installation methods cannot
support today's technology and are becoming obsolete. The new standards
use CAT5E, RG6, and speaker cables wired in a star configuration
from a service enclosure. This enclosure houses equipment such as
modems, network routers & hubs, video distribution hubs, and
audio distribution hubs. |
|
Easy changes from one location
This equipment is then connected to the cables that run to the
various rooms of the home with short "patch leads" that
plug in. This allows the connections to be easily changed within
the enclosure. This means you can move or add phone points (or data
points) simply by changing a patch lead in the enclosure, without
the need for tools or specialist knowledge. It's so quick &
simple to do, you'll find yourself making changes as often as you
re-arrange the furniture or use a laptop in a different room.
Our design service will put you on the right track and we can also
supply commissioning services as required, depending on the complexity
of the installation and your individual requirements. |
