Software

Incorporating end-user software can further enhance the flexibility and functionality of C-Bus. A suite of software is available such as:

• The easy to use C-Bus Toolkit software, used to program and commission the various units.
• Homegate graphical user software for sophisticated PC based control in homes. This is used on a standard PC or on a touchscreen equipped PC to give a rich interface by utilizing the PC's memory and storage resources to manage large image files, and run schedules and scenes.
• Schedule Plus software designed for commercial buildings where energy management and scheduling is a priority. It provides time management, monitoring, and basic logic control of all the devices on the network. It allows user input to load shed or run macros to initiate sequences or operating scenarios. It allows individual schedules or recurring events, which can also be logged to a history file to create reports.
• C-Gate gateway software to integrate to third party applications.

These applications are aimed at the more sophisticated installation and may not be necessary in many instances.
Once C-Bus is programmed and commissioned it operates using it's own built in microprocessors and is not dependant on any computers or controllers.

There are too many other devices to cover here, such as temperature, ultrasonic sensors, and specialist input / output units designed to allow C-Bus to be able to interface and control thousands of appliances.
